The Old with the New

First we posted some letters this morning before setting off through Braunston Lock. As we passed the marina we noticed that the D.I.Y pumpout was empty, so for £10.00 we reversed up and put the hose on. We moored up next to the vintage n.b Vulcan and restored n.b Dover from the TV programme "Narrowboat". It was lovely to get Derwent6 in the same picture as these two fantastic boats. With now had a queue to get on the pump out station so we carried on up through the locks with a hire boat, and luckily they had four years experience so we soon got to the tunnel. We did notice that the The Admiral Nelson was back open, It was boarded up last time we passed and we were told the owners could not run it anymore, so it's good news to see a pub now looking fantastic and open for business.

It has been busy today with hire boats to-ing and fro-ing, and this time we got through the tunnel with no damage...

It was good to see BW getting on with the towpath between the tunnel and Norton Junction.

We got to Norton Junction at around 2.30pm. We turned round at the junction and reversed back between all the BW boats to the top lock, just as the sun came out. We had lunch in the cratch and chilled in the afternoon. It was great to be back on 3G.

We will now sit down and watch the football tonight.
