Legging and legless

Well today was the day they were legging through Blisworth tunnel, so we got up there for 9.00am and they came out at about 9.35am. It took them a hour and 35 minutes. It was great to see a little bit of history repeating itself.

We then had a quick look round the festival and picked up some cakes and some homemade apple pie before walking back to Derwent6 for some bacon butty's, using the brown sauce we won on the tombola..

We returned to the festival late morning to watch the horse drawn boat taken through the locks and the Morris dancers doing their thing. As we walked around we bumped into Keith & Ann who are having their boat n.b Oakfield, built with Fernwood. A long time coming but it will be worth waiting for. They came back to the boat with biscuits from the festival, so we put the kettle on and chatted in the afternoon sunshine.

We then walked down to meet up with some other friends who had some problems with their heating, which is all sorted now.

In the evening we went back up to the festival for a big BBQ and to watch the live band, we just about made it back to Derwent6 after a few to many beers from the real ale tent and had lost our voices from a good sing song...
