We had a bit of a lay in this morning and set off at 9.45am. The weather was better than predicted so we thought we would make the most of it. We had never been to Goring and always wanted to stop but always seemed on a mission to get somewhere else when we were passing through. So we headed Derwent6 into stream and pushed on in the hope we could get a mooring. As we arrived another narrowboat was pulling off it's moorings and they waved us on to their spot..Bingo!! We felt very pleased with ourselves to have got in here. We hadn't had breakfast so we thought we would have a look around to see if we could find somewhere in the village. We didn't have to look far because there was just this wonderful cafe just at the bridge as you go into the high street. It was very busy but we managed to get a seat outside. We had a lovely organic breakfast and the fresh minted tea was to die for.. We then walked round Goring and then went into the church which was open and nice to see. It has now been a year to the day when Del lost his Dad (where has that gone) so he lit a candle for him. Not here, but the memories live on...... We then walked round Streetly which is on the other side of the bridge, another lovely village. Goring had won best Southern village in 2009 and 201o and you can see why... We then went back to Derwent6 and Del picked up his bike. We spotted a really good bike shop nearby and Del has worn the chain and sprocket out on his, so they said they would fit it for us and keep it over night. In the afternoon the weather was still holding out so the BBQ was in action again. A lovely end to a lovely day...
