Back to Fradley

The weather didn't look too clever this morning but we decided to leave the noise of the A38 and head for Fradley junction. It wasn't long before we got to the first lock and noticed some wood left by BW for us.. We took a couple of bits but still left some for others. We then got on to the river Trent section which was a little faster than when we went up, but it was OK, and Derwent6 turned off it with ease. We passed through Alrewas and thought we had better press on as the clouds were getting thicker. We soon got to Fradley and managed to moor on the visitors moorings. These are normally very busy and it was nice to take our pick so we could get a TV signal. It wasn't long before we had a knock on the side. It was Jan off of n.b Huff & Puff, we soon had the kettle on and we caught up on all the local gossip. She left at about 5.00pm and we made arrangements to meet in the Mucky Duck that evening.

We both had showers before heading down the pub at 7.30pm, getting rid of our rubbish on the way.

We had a great night with Martin, Sarah, Jan and Graham and also Merlin the dog.
