The weather wasn't looking good but we were on 24 hour moorings at Honey Street and felt we had to move. We carried on through the Vale and through Wide Water, passing in between the poppy fields, it was beautiful. We were hoping to moor at Wilcot near Stowell Park, but it was so shallow we would never had got in. It was typical that it then started to rain, but we had to carry on to Pewsey and we just managed to squeeze into a gap made for us. It rained for the rest of the day but boy do we need it down here. We have been on idle most of the way kicking up the leaves on the bottom of the canal. We also got a TV signal, so we watched all the programmes we wanted to see. It was a relaxing Sunday afternoon and evening......
We have the summit to face tomorrow and the locks at the top are already under restriction. They are strictly only open between 10.00am and 3.00pm, god knows if we will get through.
