It was just a lovely day today, so we set off after grabbing a bit of sun in the cratch. We headed off to Leighton Buzzard, taking Derwent6 through some glorious countryside. We soon went through Soulbury's three locks and Leighton locks which were all in our favour. We then stopped at Tesco's for a top up of provisions before heading off to Grove lock. We then got a shout from a stranded boater who's engine had stopped dead. They wanted a tow to the nearest marina, our good deed for the day. We were then back into countryside and with the locks still in our favour we pushed on until we ran out of energy. At Slapton lock Al was pleased to see this little herb garden and was taking some cuttings with the scissors. We did ten miles and eleven locks and we were beginning to feel it and when we got to beautiful views with the Lion on the hill, we decided to moor up. After watching the French lose to Mexico, we just crashed out into bed.....
