Up and Under to Rugby

We were up this morning and under the bridges, with the wind in our hair we set off. Derwent6 coped well in the strong winds and we were glad.... we never would have needed that bow thruster everyone was telling us we would need. We moved on up to Rugby and with a couple of boats ahead of us we wondered if we would get a mooring, but we needn't of worried because when we arrived there was plenty of room. On our way we saw BW were repairing the fences and we've got to say doing a great job using the old fashion style for intertwining the branches.

The bridges still had the murals on them probably to stop the bridge graffiti

We finally got to Rugby for midday and then did some cleaning jobs. For lunch we went over to the Harvester and met up with Jo & Brian on their way back from the north east. It was great value at £4.99 for a main meal with unlimited salad bar. After a lovely lunch with good company, we all retired to the boat for a cup of tea and a chat. Thanks both for popping in, it was lovely to see you.

In the evening we decided to make the most of our location, and went to the pictures at the 10 screen cinema just a 5 min walk from the canal. We decided to see Slumdog Millionaire, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
