We had a very heavy frost last night which put the ice back to two inches thick, but the sun was breaking through and the temperatures were beginning to soar. We had to get water again as we were getting very low, so we set of early because the ground was still hard. When we lifted the gas locker the rope was still stuck to the lid. It made the towpath very muddy later, so it was a good move.
In the afternoon we sat and watched the Rugby and in the evening put on some romantic music and had our first lovely valentines dinner.

SOrry........Didnt ntice the boat rockin!!!!!!
Just beautiful. One thing I am noticing a lot on the various blogs I follow is the often weekly search for water. What a shame one cannot use the surrounding canal water pumped in and passing it thru some uv filter system so it can be used to wash and cook with, perhaps even drink
Looks like you might be on the move soon, have a look at "Hadar" blog.
LES NB Valerie
Where exactly are you & how long have you been stuck now?
Thanks Les for the heads up. At last we should be on the move tomorrow. Glad you managed to move ok.
Hi Jill & Graham
We're between Crick and Watford and have been stuck in three inch thick ice for 17 days, but there's light at the end of the tunnel as boats have moved today, so we should be off tomorrow. :-)
Hi David
Water is quite easy to come by with lots of water points along the way. Wouldn't trust the canal water.
