Help through the locks

It was just a beautiful morning, so it would be rude not to cruise today.. We were now getting a bit desperate for water and diesel so we pulled the pins and made our way to the top of the locks. At the top we saw the lock keeper and as a boat was making it's way up the ten locks we had a wait of 45 minutes. While we were waiting we started to fill with water as the taps at the top of the locks are now working. We entered the lock and had another bit of luck when the lock keeper was training another member of staff and locked us all the way down the flight. Even though it was a Monday it was still very busy and we still had to do the "how do you live on a boat routine". We then made our way up to Debdale marina where we got diesel for 61p a litre with any split. Derwent6 took a hundred and seventy litres which is the most we have put in at any one time. You shouldn't really let it get that low due to the condensation created in the tank, but due to the weather conditions, that's how it goes sometimes. The wind was picking up as we made our way back to Foxton, where we topped the water tank right up. We then moved along to find a spot along the Market Harborough arm. We then noticed we had moored in front of Mo and Ness on n.b Balmaha, (www.balmaha.blog.co.uk) but saw no signs of life. We were cold and hungry as we hadn't eaten all day due to no food on Derwent6. Al conjured up some soup and we sat in front of the telly with a DVD and an early night....
