Famous at last!

We woke up this morning with a Kingfisher sitting on the rope of the boat behind us. We have never been able to get a good photo of a Kingfisher and today was no exception. So this is the best we can do at the moment.Ahhhh it's great to be back on the canal with the hassle free and peaceful world we live in.

After breakfast, we made our way through Weeden and onto Bugbrook with no locks for nine miles, (that's two days for us). It gave us the chance to get some washing done and let Derwent6 just idle it's way in this tranquil world to our next mooring spot. The sun kept showing on and off all day, so when we saw a big bit of blue sky we pulled over and just sat in the cratch for the best part of the afternoon with Al reading her book while Del strummed the guitar. We did go and pick some more blackberries as there were loads right next to where we were moored. On reading Canal Boat magazine this month we were surprised to see a picture of Derwent6 in the Croperdy section, so we are famous at last. It started to get chilly at around 4.30pm, so Al lit the fire again, it was nice last night as it just took the chill off the boat. The wood we got must still be a bit damp because the chimney is smoking well, but the smell is loveeeeeleeeey.

Football tonight so set up up the dish and got out the lager and crisps.....Rock on!

Hi Cliff
No worries, will send it onto you when finished reading it. You're right, difficult to get in SE, only place we could always get it was Bluewater WH smiths......

We also missed getting an image of the kingfisher, they can travel at 45mph apparently, so no wonder they are hard to catch!
