We lay in bed and looked at the weather and noticed it had changed for tomorrow, so it could be all systems go for today.. We were up and did the chains in about 10 minutes and made our way up to the lock.
We were soon on our way out of Cosgrove.
But were soon met with a fishing match just round the corner.
One of the fifteen fishermen had a moan about moving Derwent6 more into the middle of the canal. We deliberately went right over to the right hand side as they had those long poles out and we thought it would be easier for them to pull them out of the way, and also if a boat came round the corner we were on the right side of the canal. He started ranting that we should be in the middle and Del just said "Thanks mate for moving your pole" and smiled.. he must have been having a bad day in the competition.
We weaved our way onto Yardley Gobion where it is always tight to pass.
It really is pretty now as the leaves change colour and settle on the water, but it is like cruising through soup sometimes as they get stuck round the prop..
As we got to the bottom lock at Stoke Bruerne a boat pulled off the water point and started setting up the lock..
It turned out to be a lovely Welsh couple who were thinking of living on the canals.. We had a great chat going up the locks, and as they hired a lot it made things very easy..
When we got to the top we thought it might be good to top up again as it just gave us more options when the weather changes again..
We then moored just before the tunnel and was lucky enough to get a tv signal but the internet signal was non existence, which is a first..
We then had another problem, "Do we go down the pub or not" now that's not a bad problem to have, is it....
