Through Newbury

We still weren't feeling the ticket but decided to move today. We made our way through the three locks into the town of Newbury. There was nothing we needed in the town, so we didn't stop this time, but there are plenty of moorings. We passed through the other side and stopped at the Tesco's. We were only able to get the stern in and Del held Derwent6 while Al got a few bits. We then carried on through another three locks now on the River Kennet and were met with a queue at Widmead lock. BW had just repaired the hinge on one of the gates and some boats had waited two and a half hours to get through. We waited ten minutes...good timing we thought. We got to Thatcham and we had to ask a hire boat to move up a bit (which was no problem) for us to squeeze in.. It then started to rain... so we had some dinner and watched telly in the evening with this family for company.
