Special meal and a Derwent6 Service

February 3rd is the day that Del and Al first went out together in 1979, to the disco at the youth club in Shoreham Kent. If you would have told us then that we would be married for 28 years and living on a narrowboat travelling the country, we would have both laughed at you. As teenagers we didn't even know what a narrowboat was...

We got up early as Derwent6 was having it's intermediate service today. Del set to work on first changing the gearbox oil and then the oil and filter. All the levels were checked and greased up and bolts re torqued. This took the most of the morning, and after a shower we went out.

We had an invite to see Carol and Alan off n.b Holly Hobble who had offered to treat us to dinner at their house, which helped us celebrate our special day. We got round there at about 3.30pm and sat chatting all afternoon. After a lovely meal, we sat down with our guitars and had a sing song, which didn't sound too good due to the amount drunk! We ended up leaving there at around 2.00am in the morning and then had the fifteen minute walk back to Derwent6. It was another great night guys, Thanks!

Thanks Z I know, can't believe it's been 32 years, but what's lovely is that we can all still reminisce. Happy days then and now, and hopefully many more to come x
