On Friday we decided to move for a pump out and water before the weekend. So we headed down to Shiplake lock at 9.00am We were lucky enough to only have one boat in front of us. Al went up to the Lockeeper and got a card to use it. We then made our way back to the Shiplake moorings where no boats were in sight and we had the pick of the bunch. It was nice to have a different view and we soon settled out in the cratch with our books, until the Olympics came on of course.
While we were there a load of film crew turned up and started filming. "What's going on" we asked "Oh they're filming Midsomer Murders" he replied. Well, we can tell you that this small girl was involved in quite a few scenes, there was a police boat chase, and a body was dumped in the Thames! We think Derwent6 will have a small slot.. but we received no royalties...
As we now feel like true Olympians, we were glued in front of the telly on Saturday sitting in the sunshine when we could, and doing the brasses of course. It has been very busy on this part of the Thames, so we have plenty to look at. We ended the day screaming at the telly for Mo Farah and he did us all proud.. his quote "you can achieve anything with hard work and grafting" in our case this is SO TRUE!! Wise words indeed.........
