Just a little bit Gorgeous

We left Oxford in amongst the rowers at 9.30am. We got to the first lock in brilliant sunshine. It must be a omen that every time we have Thomas on board we have good weather...he can come again......
It was just brilliant cruising weather as we went through Kennington and Lower Radley which is mostly parkland and the red kites were flying above us. All the locks here are electric and Thomas pushed all the buttons for us when the lock keeper was at lunch and the locks were self service. We got to Abingdon at 2.00pm and managed to moor right opposite a very busy park. We sat in the cratch and watched the kids having fun all day in the sunshine and when we got too hot we dangled our feet on the cold waters of the Thames. Thomas spent most of the day feeding the swans and seemed to make friends with a few of them, while Al walked into town to have a browse round. We even had these two love birds trying to simulate the heart on the back of Derwent6, very romantic!!!In the warm evening we had a BBQ an then sat in the cratch with the candles.
