Changing the guard

We had such a good mooring here we decided to have a look around Windsor as we also had a letter to post.. Just a short walk away was the Park and Ride into the town centre, but we decided to walk with the back drop of the castle in the background. When we got to the castle entrance we found out that the changing of the guard was at 11.15am and the letter boxes were all blocked off, so we watched them go in. We then got a coffee and managed to get a seat outside and watched them come out again. We then had a walk around the shops and found the post office. We then got a phone call from Al's Dad to say that, following her x-ray, her Mum had broken her ankle! After making sure everything seemed alright we then made our way back to Derwent6.
We set off in the afternoon and went right past Eton College and past Windsor. We went up two locks, one on our own for the first time. These guys reminded Al of Del on his guitar.
We carried on past Windsor race course and found a nice 24 hour mooring.
We had some dinner and then went for a walk and stumbled on the Olympic Rowing venue which was run by Eton College. It was just fantastic, as we watched a dragon race taking place.
We got back to Derwent6 and chilled for the rest of the evening.

Hi there, some lovely sights on your travels. The dragon boat reminded me, Kevin and his wife used to race in Vancouver before they had the kids.
Keep enjoying
Best wishes

We like to moor near the rowing lake and boat house. What is the state of the small church that is quite close by? They were doing a lot of work on it last time we were there.

Hi Les & Barb, it's lovely on the Thames, and at the moment we have blue skies like we had in Vancouver! Hope you're all well

Hi Brian & Di
They are still working on the church, but it's nearly finished and is due to be completed in August. It's looking great!
